Something New

Last year (2017) I did a project that I called 100 Days of Mindfulness. It was inspired by the #100DaysProject and it changed my life. Yes, I know how dramatic that sounds, but if you know me you know I am not a dramatic person... so I repeat, my 100 days of mindfulness changed my life. I challenge myself to start meditating consistently and to develop daily mindful practices. I shared this challenge on Instagram, and that public announcement really made me accountable to this effort. I read about mindfulness, intentional living, and meditation. And I began surrounding myself with people who could teach me more. My life blossomed and I felt myself appreciating new things in my life and creating space to enjoy those things more.

Mindful Notes Podcast

All of this is to say that this year I am upping that challenge. I am taking my 100 days mindfulness to a new level. I will be recording 100 days of mindful notes. These notes could be anything. Mostly, they will be me taking note of my life, a record of the thoughts that are changing me, and reflections on the life I am designing for myself.

These notes will be rough and could take many forms. I envision blog posts, photos and captions, and something new... voice records.

As an avid podcast listener, I realize what a wonderfully intimate and interesting medium voice can be. The tone and pitch can reveal a person's mood and emote their sentiment in a way words on a page can not. So I am excited to use my voice to put my inner thoughts out there in a way that only my closest friends and family have seen before. And I hope that this new experiment is something others can use and enjoy.
